Despite the losses relating to the history of this city, in particular the seismic events of 1783 and 1908, the pictorial heritage are preserved in the Palazzo arcivescovile di Reggio Calabria. Today in the Museo diocesano  it is conserved and maintained to assist in the documentation that  prelates to the succeeding the archbishop's oldest throne in Calabria. The chapels of the Cathedral and the private spaces of their residence were adorned using the "buon pennello" style. Disappeared figurative examples of more ancient times are  mentioned in the pastoral visits which were documented. These valuable archival documents, dated from the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries and are preserved in the Museo diocesano  and  are particularly interesting not only for their high aesthetic quality, but also are expression of the refined taste of the ecclesiastical patron.
